All 30 Achievements Unlock Guide
PC FISH: Taskbar Aquarium features 30 Steam achievements, all unlockable without purchasing any DLC. This guide categorizes every achievement by type and provides efficient strategies to unlock them all.
Good News: None of the 30 achievements require paid DLC. Everything can be earned in the base free-to-play game.

1. Breeding Achievements
Breeding is the core mechanic and the source of several cumulative achievements. These unlock as you breed fish over time:
First Breeding
Successfully breed your first pair of fish. Unlocks automatically during normal progression.
Breeding Enthusiast
Complete 10 breeding attempts. Keep multiple pairs breeding simultaneously to speed this up.
Master Breeder
Complete 50 breeding attempts. A natural milestone for active players.
Breeding Legend
Complete 100 breeding attempts. The highest breeding milestone. Grind with multiple pairs.
2. Collection & Rarity Achievements
These achievements reward acquiring fish of increasing rarity tiers:
First Uncommon
Acquire your first Uncommon rarity fish. Breed two Common fish or purchase from the shop.
First Rare
Acquire your first Rare fish. Try Common + Uncommon breeding with high affinity (e.g., Frostblue Sunfish + Banggai Starfin).
First Legendary
Acquire your first Legendary fish. Requires Rare + Rare breeding with high heart affinity.
First Mythic
Acquire your first Mythic fish. The rarest achievement — breed two high-star Legendary fish with max affinity.
Collection Starter
Collect 50 unique fish species. Progress naturally as you breed and explore.
Dedicated Collector
Collect 200 unique fish species. Requires systematic breeding across all families.
Complete Encyclopedia
Collect all 450+ fish species. The ultimate collection goal — requires extensive breeding and trading.
3. Merge Achievements
The merge system combines duplicate fish. Three achievements track merge counts:
First Merge
Merge two fish for the first time. Use duplicate Common fish as merge fodder.
Merge Novice
Complete 10 merges. Merge low-star duplicates regularly to free tank space.
Merge Master
Complete 100 merges. A long-term goal — merge duplicates whenever your tank fills up.
4. Variant Mastery Achievements
Each species has multiple visual variants. These achievements reward variant discovery:
First Variant
Discover your first fish variant. Breed the same species repeatedly to roll for new color patterns.
Variant Mastery
Achieve 100% variant completion for at least one species. Focus breeding on a single species until all variants unlock.
5. Trading Achievements
These achievements involve the Trade Hub and Steam Inventory:
First Export
Export your first fish to Steam Inventory via the Trade Hub. Any fish counts — start with a Common duplicate.
First Import
Import a fish from Steam Inventory back into the game. Buy a cheap fish on the Market or re-import an exported one.
Market Trader
Sell a fish on the Steam Community Market. Export a fish, then list it on the Market at a competitive price.
6. Progression & Miscellaneous
The remaining achievements cover aquarium levels, first-time actions, and gameplay milestones:
Aquarium Level 5
Reach aquarium level 5. Earn EXP through breeding, feeding and merging.
Aquarium Level 10
Reach aquarium level 10. The highest level milestone — requires sustained active play.
Idle Hours
Accumulate a set amount of idle playtime. Run the game in desktop companion mode while doing other tasks.
Max Affinity
Achieve maximum heart affinity between a breeding pair. Breed the same pair repeatedly to build their relationship.
Note: Achievement names and exact conditions may vary slightly based on game version. The in-game achievement menu always shows the most current requirements.
7. Efficient Unlock Route
Follow this order to unlock achievements efficiently while making natural progression:

Early Game (Levels 1-5)
Unlock First Breeding, First Uncommon, First Merge, First Export, First Variant, Aquarium Level 5. Focus on breeding Common pairs and merging duplicates.

Mid Game (Levels 5-8)
Unlock First Rare, Breeding Enthusiast (10), Merge Novice (10), First Import, Market Trader, Max Affinity, Collection Starter (50). Build Rare breeding stock.

Late Game (Levels 8-10+)
Unlock First Legendary, Master Breeder (50), Dedicated Collector (200), Variant Mastery, Aquarium Level 10, Idle Hours. Grind Legendary pairs.

Endgame Completion
Unlock First Mythic, Breeding Legend (100), Merge Master (100), Complete Encyclopedia (450+). The final long-term grind.
